Let’s start with a big one because understanding the answer to this question will help explain many of the possible future questions you may have. A vehicle wrap is an automotive aftermarket practice of completely or partially covering your vehicle’s original paint with vinyl wrap. Vehicle wraps are done with vinyl materials (think of it like a large decal) that conforms to the shape of your vehicle. They can be done in solid colors as “color change” or can have digitally printed designs on the vinyl to give your vehicle a personalized look or commercial advertising. Vehicle wraps can be any shape & size to truly give a vehicle your own custom spin. A full wrap covers the entire surface of the vehicle. A partial wrap covers only a portion of the vehicle and utilizes the vehicle’s paint as the backdrop for a completed design.
If your wrap is taken care of properly they can last for seven years or more in certain cases. However, a wrap that lacks the proper care and cleaning will see fading or crackling before that seventh year (no different than paint). With M.O. Graphics, you can expect a lifetime of about 5-7 years for color change wraps, but many customers have had their wraps on for longer.
At M.O. Graphics, we wrap with high-end materials which are formulated with removable adhesive that does not harm your car’s paint. In fact, the vinyl will actually protect your paint. When high-quality materials are used and the vinyl is correctly installed your paint will look the same as it idd the day your wrap was put on. The best part is, this can help with resale value and the longevity of your vehicle’s surface. You still must care for your wrap just like you would your paint.
Yes, of course! Hand washing and waxing is actually recommended when you have a vinyl wrap. But to be safe do note that certain materials may require a touchless wash or special care instructions to not power wash, for example. If the wrap is our primary focus the turnaround time can be as short as 5-7 business days depending on the complexity of the project. We prefer to have the car for a week, if possible, to take extra precaution and attention to detail. Stripes, graphics, and accent pieces can typically be completed within a day. Since we are a fully functioning print shop as well, instillation times can vary depending on the project and when it’s scheduled. If you’re on a deadline or need to expedite your install, just let us know ahead of time what the time frame is and we will factor it in as best we can when we set up your appointment.
As the old adage says, “you get what you pay for.” Our prices are a direct reflection of the quality of work that goes into each of our installations. Our installs are incredibly thorough at M.O. Graphics. With our 3M certifications we have superior instillation knowledge and skills backed by UASC and 3M. Speedy & cheap installations lead to cars being cut on, films not being properly applied or simply using cheap materials. This leads to a shorter life span for the wrap. Another thing we do to ensure proper adhesion and no fail spots is to disassemble parts of your vehicle so the wrap can lay behind. We do this so that your wrap does not lift at important edges. That means no unnecessary seams, no bad cuts, or messy edges. If the film we supplied fails because of an instillation error, bring it back to M.O. Graphics and we’ll make it right until you’re satisfied with the result.
3M is mostly known for their global brands. You know, things like Post-it, Command Strips, or Scotch Tape. However, 3M is also the largest distributor of vehicle wrap products in the world, and continues to help the industry for vinyl and installers alike. Being a 3M certified shop means our installers have knowledge from a personalized training program done by 3M and UASG.Our business’s methods have a stamp of approval from large global corporations. We carry liability insurance if anything were to happen to your vehicle while in our possession, and we only will be using the best quality vinyl on your vehicle. We pride ourselves on this great accomplishment and are pleased to join the ranks with only 150 other certified installation companies.
Any of our films can be installed on chrome, but the finish will look slightly different than if it were left completely unprotected. At M.O. Graphics we recommend applying a small swatch to the desired surface so you can see what it looks like before deciding if you’d like your entire vehicle to be protected by an XPEL film.
We do not recommend wrapping a vehicle with imperfection. While most probably imagine protective vinyl film being able to hide the vehicle’s imperfections, that is not the case. Because of the way our vinyl film is applied, it will actually highlight the imperfections of the car and won’t last as long.
It is highly unlikely for paint protection film to harm OEM paint. Paint systems used on modern assembly lines today produce a minimum bond strength of 16 MPa and maximum of 25 MPa between the panel and the paint depending on color, iridescence and the system used.
Yes. M.O. Graphics will not print anything until you are completely satisfied with the design and have physically approved the design and color proof. We know color and consistency matter to your brand and will work with you to ensure that your vehicle matches your vision.
